Physician Margaret Overton is the author of two non-fiction books, Hope for A Cool Pillow, which explores her own personal experiences in end-of-life care, and Good in a Crisis, a memoir about the aftermath of divorce compounded by a serious medical illness.  She has been published in the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine, Creative Nonfiction, Real Simple, Northwestern Medicine Magazine and Best of Creative Nonfiction.  She is a graduate of the Northwestern Honors Program in Medical Education, and holds an MFA in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  

Margaret is a practicing anesthesiologist in Chicago as well as the mother of two doctors.  Her interests include bird watching, cycling and classical music.
